A one-day workshop in Mesa/Tempe designed to help kids build a strong growth mindset, improve confidence, practice helpful thinking patterns, and strengthen executive functioning skills. Led by a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and a Middle School Teacher. Limited to 20 students.Â
Healthy Endeavors is excited to offer the Growth Mindset Workshop, a supportive, one-day experience for children ages 8–12. This camp teaches kids how to reframe challenges, bounce back from setbacks, and approach school—and life—with confidence and flexibility.
This camp gives parents a meaningful enrichment option while kids learn skills that truly matter: positive self-talk, persistence, coping strategies, goal setting, and executive functioning tools.
The camp is co-led by Rebecca Gassett, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and Mental Health Specialist, and Jessica Hess, Middle School Teacher, ensuring each child receives expert guidance from both clinical and educational perspectives.
Kids will participate in fun, hands-on workshops centered around Growth Mindset principles, including:
Understanding the difference between a fixed vs. a growth mindset
Learning how the brain grows stronger through effort and practice
Replacing unhelpful self-talk (“I can’t”) with empowering language (“I can learn this”)
How to handle mistakes, setbacks, and frustration
Strategies for staying motivated during challenges
Celebrating progress—not perfection
A growth mindset works best when paired with practical tools:
How to plan, prioritize, and break tasks into smaller steps
Organization strategies for home and school
Flexible thinking skills for problem-solving
Grounding and mindfulness strategies
Anxiety management tools
How to stay calm and centered during difficult moments
Encouraging supportive, growth-oriented communication
Learning to give and receive feedback
Practicing teamwork through group challenges
By the end of the day, your child will walk away feeling more capable and equipped with skills they can use immediately.
This camp is a great fit for children who:
Feel frustrated easily or give up quickly
Experience anxiety or overwhelm with school
Struggle with perfectionism or fear of making mistakes
Need support with planning, organization, or flexibility
